The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is an amazing, interesting and beautiful novel which all of you will absolutely love! You, like me, will enjoy every minute of the read and, what’s more, you’ll feel like you are the main character (Christopher); you’ll feel his thoughts and feelings and how hard his early life is.
This book, by Mark Haddon, is about a boy called Christopher, a fifteen-year-old boy with an autism spectrum condition. Christopher lives with his father who has told him that his mother, Judy, died two years ago. After learning this news, Christopher discovers the dead body of the neighbour’s dog, Wellington, speared by a garden fork – it’s a pretty gruesome first chapter!
In a book filled with lies and deceit, the story is uplifting and makes you appreciate the small things in life. The book is a Whitbread Book of the Year winner, has been on numerous best-selling novel lists and, most recently, has been adapted for the stage into a critically-acclaimed West End and touring production by the National Theatre (the show’s great, too!).
